Introducing the AYS Summer Interns

AYS is dedicated to fostering the development of young people throughout their educational journey, whether they’re just starting pre-school or finishing their college degree. That’s why we’re launching the AYS Summer Intern Program, which empowers college students to develop professional skills while making vital, real-time contributions to the organization.

Keep reading to learn more about our interns and their goals for this summer.

Paul Cormany: Data Analytics Intern

Paul Cormany is a rising junior at Indiana University Bloomington where he is studying statistics and Spanish along with minors in mathematics and data science. During the interview process, Paul was extremely attracted to the opportunity to develop his skills in data analyzation to optimize the retention and enjoyment of the children of central Indiana.

Paul is most looking forward to both finding solutions to help improve the quality of care for the children at AYS and also the hands-on aspects of attending programs, potentially utilizing his knowledge of Spanish to connect with the Hispanic community. In Paul's free time this summer, he plans on running 50-60 mile weeks to condition for the fall cross country season.

Katherine Jackson: Marketing & Communications Intern

Katherine is a rising junior at Villanova University, where she studies marketing with a minor in business law and a concentration in digital marketing. She was attracted to AYS because of her background in childcare, and the organization's clear goal of bettering childcare for central Indiana.

Katherine is excited about the opportunity to photograph camps and programs throughout the summer, along with applying her marketing skills to support AYS. This summer, Katherine is looking forward to her trip to Puerto Rico and going to concerts.

Braden Wright: Marketing & Human Resources Intern

Braden is a senior at Ball State University studying Advertising. He was attracted to AYS because he grew up going to similar after-school programs, and he thought it would give him a chance to connect with the company on a personal level. He also love how the company serves and gives back to the community.

Braden is looking forward to sharpening his marketing skills with hands-on experience and diving into HR which is a whole new world for him. This summer, he's  looking forward to spending time outdoors.
